Book Review: The Revolution Of Ivy By Amy Engel

Hello Everyone and New Followers,

My name is Samantha. People think I am very lucky but I think with hard work and determination anyone can be lucky.  I post on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays.

About The Book(Goodreads):

Ivy Westfall is beyond the fence and she is alone. Abandoned by her family and separated from Bishop Lattimer, Ivy must find a way to survive on her own in a land filled with countless dangers, both human and natural. She has traded a more civilized type of cruelty–forced marriages and murder plots–for the bare-knuckled brutality required to survive outside Westfall’s borders.

But there is hope beyond the fence, as well. And when Bishop reappears in Ivy’s life, she must decide if returning to Westfall to take a final stand for what she believes is right is worth losing everything she’s fought for.

My Thoughts:

My least fave. part: When Ivy’s sister and father would not change and see the good there is to offer.

My fave. part: The love story of Ash’s Parents.

I gave this book 3 stars out of 5 stars.

I also gave the first book The Book of Ivy 3 stars out of 5 stars.

Samantha Watches: Agatha Christie’s Poirot Season One

p466168_b_v8_ar

About The Series:

From England to Egypt, accompanied by his elegant and trustworthy sidekicks, the intelligent yet eccentrically-refined Belgian detective Hercule Poirot pits his wits against a collection of first class deceptions.

Season one runs for 10 episodes.

My thoughts:

My Least Fave. Episode:  Problems at sea: I found this episode boring and not at all ground breaking. This episode all most made me stop watching the series.

My Fave. Episode: The Dream.  It has so much mystery to the story like same dream over and over again. Lots of meat pies. I was quite impress with how much of the writer work went into the script to explain how and why he died.

I give this series 2.5 stars out of 5 stars.

Book Review: My Life With The Walter Boys By Ali Novak

Hello Everyone and my new followers,

My name is Samantha and I started video gaming when I was 16 years old after a dirty biking accident. Video gaming was recommend by my doctor for brain trauma. Which made me the gamer I am today. I blog on Monday, Wednesdays and Fridays.

There will be spoilers in my book reviews for now on. Well not too much of a spoiler about two things. I decide to do a like and dislikes on my book review. In the past I try not to spoil books but I have come to terms that spoiling two things does not mean the book is ruined for others.  So lets get started.

13580846

About the book:

It follows Jackie who grew up in New York and love it there. To one day lose all her family and end up moving to Colorado with the Walter family.  It can’t be all that bad I mean how can 11 boys and one girl be any trouble right?

Jackie finds out that boys are most of the time just trouble and you have to get to really know them to see the diamonds in the rough.

My thoughts:

I am going to start with my dislike and then talk about what I liked.

I really really and I mean really dislike the character Cole Walter. I found him to be a grown up baby that didn’t get his way would throw a tantrum.  Sorry Cole. You can’t get what you want. As the old saying goes the grass is greener on the other side. I feel sorry for Jackie having to deal with Cole.

I really like Nathan character development.  I found adding the scene with Nathan having a seizure and finding he has epilepsy. Which was close to home with growing up with a mother with epilepsy and loosing a sister who died during a epilepsy attack. I love to see a book that has real life things. Like one character is going through cancer and so on. Which makes me wonder if the author has someone in there family with epilepsy.

I give this book 3 stars out of 5 stars.

BI-Montly Lipstick Haul: Urban Decay Vice Lipstick in Rapture and Mac Star Trek Lipstick in Klingiton

Urban Decay Vice Lipstick

dscn0151

Rapture is a dusty rose and the finish is cream.

dscn0166

Rapture swatch on my hand.

dscn0167

Here is what Rapture looks like on my lips.

dscn0158

Mac Star trek tube.

dscn0159

Klingiton is a dark purple with pink glitter and finish is a frost.

To me this lipstick looks more like a black lipstick with a red glitter. This lipstick is also very sheer and streaky.  Even with a lip liner this product will smear. I found this product worked best over a lipstick which it darken the lipstick color and add a touch of glitter.

With my lipsticks power combine I bring you a combo I like to call Kling Rapture.

Product Review: Lush Cosmetics Ambrosia Shaving Cream

Hello Everyone,

This will be the last Lush product review for awhile since I have one product to test out and I have to go to my local Lush store and pick up some more goodies. So lets get started.

About the product( Lush Website):

Ambrosia is our shaving cream for sensitive faces; those poor souls who suffer from razor burn, ingrown hairs and itchiness. Mark (LUSH co-founder and product inventor) used the gentlest ingredients he could find for Ambrosia, like oat milk and linseed to protect the skin during shaving, cocoa butter to soften and calming chamomile extract to soothe. Apply liberally before shaving for a smooth, irritation-free face.

100 ml retails for $9.95

250 ml retails for $19.95

My Thoughts:

I didn’t like this product for shaving under the arms and was not great in my husband case to shave facial hair but it was fantastic for shaving legs.

The scent was also nice.

Under arm: Big no with a sensation of skin irritation.

Facial hair: Same as under arm.

Leg: Yes! Best leg shaving cream I have ever tried. Will be rebuying for leg shaving.
I give this product 2 stars out of 5 stars.
